  2. Appointing Authority- District Health Society under State Health Mission
  3. Posting Place- Health & Wellness Sub-centers
  4. Reporting Authority- Medical Officer of concerned Primary Health Centers
  5. District Authority- Chief Medical Officer of Health (or) Deputy Director of Health Services
  6. Appointment Nature- MLHPs will be appointed tenure basis with yearly breakup

MLHP Eligibility

MLHP Age Limit

Individuals between 18 to 40 years of age can apply.

MLHP Educational Qualifications

  1. Individuals should completed minimum General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc Nursing qualification
  2. Registration in State Nursing Council & Valid License is mandatory.

MLHP Salary

Individuals appointed as MLHP will be paid between Rs.25, 000 to Rs.30, 000 per month.

MLHP Course Details

Candidates who are selected for MLHP Posts will have to undergo a specialized certificate course to become MLHP. Course Details are as follows

  1. MLHP Course Name- Certificate Course in Community Health for Nurses (or) Bridge Programme Community Health for Nurses
  2. Duration of Course- 06 Months
  3. Whether Stipend is provided during Training?-  Stipend will be given as per state govt norms.
  4. Cost of Training- Training will be offered at free of cost.
  5. Passing Standard- Individuals have to pass in written exams following Training.

What are the Job Responsibilities of MLHP?

Mid-Level Health Providers have wide range of duties at Health & Wellness centers and Primary Health Centers. The following are the important duties.

  1. Care of Antenatal, Intra-natal & Post Natal Mothers Care of New born, Infant
  2. Immunization
  3. Encouraging Family Planning & Use of contraceptives among public
  4. Management of Communicable Diseases and implementing relevant National Health Programmes i.e. NVBDCP
  5. Management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NPCDCS & NCD)
  6. Childhood & Adolescent Health services
  7. Management of Emergency medical conditions like RTA, Poison, Drowning etc
  8. Palliative care
  9. Care of Elderly
  10. Providing Health Education
  11. Maintaining Records relevant to duty
  12. Submitting Reports daily, weekly and monthly
  13. Attending Weekly, Meeting at Block and District Level. etc
